Mumbai Traffic Advisory: Mumbai is welcoming Ganpati Bappa on Wednesday, August 26, which may result in a huge traffic rush on the roads.

Coupled with the rain in Mumbai currently, commuters may see chaos on the streets. However, the traffic police on Saturday issued a traffic advisory to ensure that the vehicle flow will remain smooth during the Ganesha procession, said media reports.

Traffic Restrictions on Key Routes

According to a report by Times Now Navbharat, temporary restrictions have been imposed on vehicular movement in areas, including Chembur, Chunabhatti, Trombay, Mankhurd, Mulund, Sakinaka, MIDC, Kandivali, Goregaon, Santacruz, DN Nagar, and Sahar.

The entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted on multiple roads, including Hemu Kalani Marg, Gidwani Marg, Ghatla Village Road, Dr CG Marg, Sion-Panvel Highway, LBS Road, JVLR Road, and Madh-Marve Road.

No-Parking Zones and Road Closures

Traffic diversions have been implemented in certain areas, and numerous locations have been declared as no-parking zones. Roads near Devde Road, Juhu Tara Road, and Oshiwara Nala will remain completely closed during the immersion processions. Restriction on ROB

Special precautions have also been issued concerning the use of railway overbridges (ROBs). No more than 100 people will be permitted to cross an ROB at any given time, and processions or halts on these structures are strictly prohibited. Additionally, dancing and the use of loudspeakers are banned on all ROBs.

According to the advisory issued on Saturday, the movement of light vehicles will be restricted on several routes, while the entry of heavy vehicles has been banned in South Mumbai.
