Mumbai shocker: Man attacks wife outside police station, chases her into premises

New Delhi: A domestic dispute over divorce in Maharashtra‘s Kalyan turned violent when a woman, along with her brother, was allegedly attacked with a knife and stones outside a police station.

The woman is identified as Rukhsar, who was in a dispute with her husband Tanveer and his family. Both sides were invited to discuss divorce and resolve the issue, but the situation escalated into violence.

How did the situation escalate?

During the discussion at the station, an argument broke out between both parties after members of the husband’s family alleged and assaulted Rukhsar. As the situation worsened, she and her brother, Aslam, rushed to the Mahatma Phule Police Station to file a complaint.

On seeing them leaving the spot, the accused ran to chase them and cornered them right outside the police station gate, where they started attacking the siblings.

Arrest and investigation underway

Rukhsar and her brother were bleeding badly and were injured as they ran inside the police station to save themselves. The accused continued to chase them right into the police station compound.

Police arrested the main accused in connection with the case, as both siblings were taken to Meera Hospital, where the treatment is ongoing.

According to preliminary investigation, the accused Tanveer had faced legal proceedings earlier, including externment proceedings.

A case has been registered against the accused, and efforts are underway to trace the father-in-law and brother-in-law, who, as per the information, are currently on the run.
