Nashik has the highest loss
According to the State Disaster Management Department, Nashik has suffered the most. A house collapsed here, 4 people died, out of which 3 belonged to the same family. Apart from this, 2–2 people died in Dharashiv and Ahilyanagar, while 1-1 people died in Jalna and Yavatmal. The water level of the Jaikwadi dam on the Godavari river in the Marathwada region had to open all the gates due to the rapid rise. Heavy rains in many districts including Beed, Nanded and Parbhani have increased the difficulties of people. The situation in Nashik may be more serious as the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy to very heavy rainfall on Monday.

Government and administration on alert
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis held a review meeting of flood affected areas on Sunday. He instructed the administration to pay special attention to the safety of the people and to intensify relief and rescue work. Collector from Marathwada and 9 districts nearby also attended this meeting. At the same time, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also reviewed the situation across the state.
Constant rains in Mumbai since Saturday night
Mumbai has been raining continuously since Saturday night. According to BMC, more than 50 mm of rain was recorded in many areas between 8 am and 1 pm on Sunday. Thane and Palghar districts have also received heavy rains in the last 24 hours. Overall, rains in many parts of Maharashtra have made people’s lives difficult. The administration is constantly monitoring and NDRF and local teams are engaged in relief.
All schools, colleges will be closed today
Schools and colleges will remain closed on Monday, September 29 in many districts including Mumbai and Palghar. The government has said that the decision to reopen schools and colleges will be made on the basis of weather conditions. The concern has increased due to the rise in the water level of rivers in Thane and Palghar, and the administration is preparing to transfer people in sensitive areas to safe places.
