Kolkata: Every year Hurun publishes the Hurun Global Rich List and the Hurun India Rich List. This year they have published the inaugural list naming 79 of India’s most promising entrepreneurs who are within the age of 30. The age profile suggests that those named in this list could be the future business leaders of India. Significantly, the financial capital of Mumbai accounts for almost 20% of them.
The second and third cities accounting for the young richest entrepreneurs are Bengaluru and New Delhi. Interestingly, non-metro cities such as Salem (Tamil Nadu), Phagwara (Punjab), Hubballi (Karnataka) and Ranchi (Jharkhand) also feature in the list. The sector with the most venutres in the list is software which has 21 entrepreneurs. Next in the rank comes consumer items with 12 businessmen and financial services comes at number three with 9 ventures.
However, the most remarkable feature of the names in the list is that an overwhelming 66 of the 79, or 83% are self made entrepreneurs who have found success. The average are of the persons in the list is just 28 years. The youngest are both 22 years old — Kaivalya Vohra and Aadit Palicha who together founded Zepto, the quick commerce venture. The youngest woman in the list is Devika Gholap, who founded OptraSCAN, a firm offering digital pathology solutions.
The Avendus Wealth–Hurun India U30 List 2025 has put the focus on 79 of the promising entrepreneurs of the land. The list was published on July 17. In the list features both first generation entrepreneurs founders and second generation leaders. The startups of first generation entrepreneurs in the list are valued at more than $25 million and the businesses from where second-generation leaders have been named for heading family businesses are worth more than $50 million.
The top names in the list are Kaivalya Vohra: Age 22 years (Firm: Zepto); Aadit Palicha: Age 22 (Zepto); AVR Shree Smaran: Age 22, (AVR Swarna Mahal Jewellers); Arjun Deshpande: Age 22 (Generic Aadhaar); Shiva A Sankeshwar: Age 23 (Vijayanand Travels), Ujjwal Sukheja: Age 24 (Swish); Saran S: Age 24 (Swish), Aniket Shah: Age 25 (Swish); Rahul Rawat: Age 25 (Digantara) and Mihir Menda: Age 25 (RMZ).
In terms of employment generation, Svatantra Microfin, founded by Ananyashree Birla tops the list. It boasts of 23,289 employees. She also happens to be the face with the longest experience in running a business, having spent 13 years in it.
Cumulatively the 79 entrepreneurs employ more than 64,000 people. The largest employer among them is Svatantra Microfin, founded by Ananyashree Birla, with 23,289 employees. Birla, 30, also brings the longest entrepreneurial experience to the list, 13 years.
