Mumbai: Chaos erupts at Thane station after ticketless traveller gets caught | VIDEO

Mumbai: Mumbai’s suburban rail network was thrown into disarray after a video emerged online showing a woman creating a commotion during a ticket inspection at Thane station. The footage, reportedly filmed on the station’s crowded foot-over bridge, shows the woman, dressed in formal office attire, visibly distressed as she confronts ticket-checking staff and Railway Protection Force (RPF) officers.

A man, believed to be part of the inspection team, is seen holding her handbag to prevent her from leaving while officials repeatedly ask her to produce a valid ticket or pay the penalty. Despite attempts by RPF officers to defuse the situation, the woman continues to protest loudly, drawing a crowd of onlookers. Railway staff maintained composure throughout the standoff, though it remains unclear whether any formal action was ultimately taken against her.

Man damages railway property after getting caught red-handed

The incident comes in the wake of a separate ticket inspection that escalated into violence last week. On August 2, a passenger travelling in a First Class compartment of a Virar fast local with only a Second Class ticket allegedly damaged railway property during a heated altercation.

The inspection, led by Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector Shamsher Ibrahim between Andheri and Borivali, uncovered three passengers travelling without valid First Class tickets and one travelling without any ticket. They were escorted to the ticket checkers’ office in Borivali, where one of the passengers reportedly turned violent, damaging a computer CPU and other equipment.
