Actress Tanushree Dutta recently took to Instagram with a tearful and emotional video, opening up about the trauma she claims to have endured in her own home for several years.
Visibly distressed, she revealed that she has been facing relentless harassment for over 4 to 5 years, leading her to call the police for help.
“I’m being harassed in my own home,” she said in the video. “I just called the cops. They came and asked me to file a complaint. I might go tomorrow or the day after. I’m unwell… my health is suffering because of this constant stress.”
Living in Fear
Tanushree described her day-to-day life as “hellish,” stating she doesn’t feel safe even within the confines of her own home. She spoke of untrustworthy people entering her life, including individuals she believes were “planted” as domestic workers. According to her, these people have caused repeated disturbances, stolen from her, and worsened her fragile health condition.
Problems With Domestic Help
The former beauty queen shared how impossible it has become to hire reliable help. “Every time I keep a maid, something or the other goes wrong – things go missing, or they behave in odd ways,” she said. Left with no other choice, she’s been trying to manage everything on her own, which she says has left her exhausted and her home in disarray.
A Familiar Voice Against Injustice
Tanushree is no stranger to speaking out. In 2018, she ignited India’s #MeToo movement after accusing actor Nana Patekar of inappropriate behavior during the filming of Horn Ok Pleasss back in 2008. Though the actor has denied all allegations, Tanushree’s courage paved the way for other women to come forward with their stories.
Career on Hold, Health in Crisis
Once a rising star in Bollywood with films like Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Dhol, and Bhagam Bhag, Tanushree has been largely away from the screen. She continues to be in the public eye due to her outspoken nature, but now finds herself battling a deep personal crisis.
