Mumbai: Accused who kidnapped 17 children in broad daylight killed in police encounter

In Mumbai, a young man took 17 children hostage for work money. He wanted to talk to the former education minister. The police saved the children and the accused injured in the encounter died in the hospital.

Mumbai: The young man who held 17 children hostage demanding to talk to the former Education Minister to get money for the work has died. The incident happened on Thursday afternoon. The matter came to light when the children who had come to learn acting did not come out till noon and the sound of air gun firing was heard from the studio. After this, the threatening YouTuber was caught in an encounter by the Mumbai Police. This hostage drama was created by bringing the children to a studio in Powai on the pretext of auditioning for a new film.

About 100 children came for the audition. This drama started after 17 of these children were stopped and the rest were sent back. After watching the video of the young man, police and fire force reached the spot and entered inside by breaking the glass and saved the children. Rohit had released a video soon after taking the children hostage, in which he said, ‘I am not a terrorist, nor do I have any demand for money. I have some legitimate points to make. If this opportunity is not given then the children and I will die. According to the police, Rohit had some mental problems.

Rohit had taken a tender work worth Rs 1 crore under the education department in Nagpur. Out of this, he was yet to receive about Rs 80 lakh. Rohit had told the police that for this reason he had to talk to the former education minister. The former Education Minister has also admitted that there was a tender. According to the information, accused Rohit Arya, injured in the encounter, was immediately taken to the hospital, but he died.
