Mumbai: The girl’s maternal uncle and aunt have been arrested for kidnapping a five-year-old girl and selling her for Rs 90,000. Mumbai Police has rescued the girl safely. The girl was traced from Panvel. In this case, Vakola police have arrested five people including the girl’s maternal uncle and aunt.
The girl was kidnapped around midnight from Vakola in Santa Cruz East. This disgusting act was done by the girl’s mother’s brother and his wife together. He sold the girl to a person for Rs 90,000. But investigation revealed that the buyer had later sold the girl to someone else for Rs 1,80,000.
After receiving the complaint, officials of Vakola police station conducted a swift investigation and traced the girl to Panvel. The girl was brought back to Mumbai on 25 November. The police officers pacified the girl by giving her chocolate and then handed her over to her mother. The five accused have been arrested under several sections including human trafficking.
