A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Mirzamurad police station area of Varanasi, which has shocked the entire area. The body of 22 -year -old MSc student Alka Bind was recovered from a hotel room on Wednesday evening.
The incident is of Vidhan Basera Hotel located along the highway. Initially it seemed to be a suspicious death, but as the investigation proceeded, the case turned out to be deception and ruthless murder in a love affair.
How to open the matter? The police received an alert when the hotel staff informed about the bad smell and no movement from a room. When the staff entered the room for cleaning, Alka Bind’s body was found on the bed wrapped in the blanket, which the employee got nervous and immediately informed the police.
The police started investigation and tracked the accused youth within 27 hours with the help of CCTV cameras installed in the hotel. The name of the accused is Sahab Bind, who is a resident of Mirzamurad region and works in a textile factory in Surat (Gujarat).
Why murder? The accused himself told that in the police interrogation, Sahab Bind confessed that he and Alka were in love for the last one year. The two met in 2024 during a wedding ceremony in Mehndiganj. After this, the phone conversation started between the two and they continued from time to time.
The accused said that Alka was pressurizing her to marry and was constantly demanding money. He was fed up with this and wanted to go back to Gujarat. Saheb confessed that he made a plan to meet the hotel for this reason and killed Alka, strangled. After the murder, Saheb was trying to escape from the spot, but he could not get out due to police activism and blockade. While apprehending him, the police conducted a short encounter, in which he was admitted to the hospital for treatment when he was injured.
How did the developments become unfolded? -2 July 2025, 4 pm: Alka Bind’s body was recovered at Vidhan Basera Hotel in Rupapur. According to the Hotl Staff, the girl used to come here with her lover for the last two months. This time also the room was booked by Saheb Bind, but no entry was made in the register of both. -When both did not come out till Sham, the staff opened the door to clean the room and was surprised to see the corpse.
Who was Alka? Alka Bind was a resident of Mehndiganj area of Varanasi. She was a MSc First Year student at the college in Rupapur (Khochwan) and her father Chandrashekhar Bind is the director of a nursery. Alka came out of the house on the pretext of going to college at 9 am that day, but did not go to college and reached the hotel directly.
After the murder, there was a stir, as soon as the news of the murder spread in the area, Alka’s family blocked the Calcutta-Delhi National Highway on Thursday morning. Seeing the huge crowd and anger, DCP Akash Patel and SDM Rajatlab reached the spot and pacified the people in the presence of heavy force.
