MS Dhoni To Coach CSK? Ex-India Selector Shoots Down Hemang Badani Talk

The rumours that Hemang Badani is the head coach of the Chennai Super Kings have been refuted by former India selector Kris Srikkanth.

According to Srikkanth, MS Dhoni is sufficient and qualified to serve as CSK’s head coach for the upcoming campaign. Following Stephen Fleming’s exit from his position at CSK, a number of individuals have been mentioned as potential candidates for the position at the five-time IPL winners, including Badani. For the past two seasons, the former Indian cricket player has captained the Delhi Capitals, but he has not been able to lead them to the postseason.

Changes are anticipated since JSW will take over as DC’s management for the next two years. The first is Sourav Ganguly’s appointment as head coach, with Yuvraj Singh serving as his assistant.

Srikkanth On Next CSK Coach

Upon hearing Badani’s name, Srikkanth promptly rejected the former cricket player from the position, claiming he lacked the necessary qualifications.

“There is no way Hemang Badani should be CSK’s head coach. He didn’t do anything in DC. I don’t know why CSK should go all-out for him. He is nothing special as a coach. When you have Dhoni, why do you even need someone else as coach? Dhoni himself is enough as head coach,” said Srikkanth on his YouTube channel.

If Dhoni wants an Indian coach in charge, the former India selector suggested Chandrakant Pandit, a former KKR coach.

“If  is preferring an Indian coach, then I would go for Chandrakant Pandit. He’s a good guy and has won trophies. But CSK should go for an Indian option. Either the coach must have been a great international player or achieved big as a coach at the domestic or IPL level,” said Srikkanth.

Srikkanth Tells CSK To Be Patient

Srikkanth said Chennai does not need to make a snap decision over the new coach.

“It’s fine that   are taking their time. There is no necessity to make the decision in a hurry. The auction will only be in December, so there’s enough time. So they shouldn’t rush it at all and should think calmly to make the right decision,” said Srikkanth.
