The misuse of AI-generated deepfake content continues to target celebrities, with several leading actresses falling victim to digitally manipulated images and videos. Recently, Mrunal Thakur took to social media to warn those creating and circulating such content of legal action.

Mrunal Thakur
Mrunal Thakur has recently been targeted by deepfake creators, with AI-generated and manipulated images using her likeness surfacing online. Some of the images digitally altered her body and portrayed her in a vulgar manner.
Mrunal immediately responded to the issue and warned those responsible of legal action. She has also been using her social media platforms to create awareness about the misuse of AI and the circulation of digitally altered images and videos of celebrities.
Rukmini Vasanth
A series of AI-generated images and video clips falsely depicting actress Rukmini Vasanth in a green bikini during a poolside photoshoot recently flooded social media platforms. The fabricated visuals spread rapidly, with many users initially believing that they were genuine.
Rukmini later clarified that the images were fake. According to the actress, her face had been digitally superimposed onto another person’s body using AI and deepfake technology, creating fabricated visuals that falsely portrayed her.
She also filed a police complaint over the incident, following which the police reportedly arrested several people in connection with the case.
Rashmika Mandanna

Rashmika Mandanna was among the first major Indian actresses to become a prominent victim of the deepfake menace. A morphed AI-generated video featuring another woman’s body with Rashmika’s digitally altered face went viral, triggering widespread outrage.
The incident drew strong support from several film personalities and led to a cybercrime investigation by the Delhi Police. The investigation eventually resulted in arrests in connection with the circulation and creation of the deepfake video.
Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt
Katrina Kaif also became a victim of digitally manipulated content when a morphed image from “Tiger 3” circulated widely on social media. Alia Bhatt was another target of the deepfake trend. An altered video featuring another individual’s body with her digitally superimposed face surfaced online.
