Rumours have been rife that Dhanush is dating Mrunal Thakur after the actor attended the Son Of Sardaar 2 screening in Mumbai. Weeks after the speculation, Mrunal has broken her silence and issued a clarification.
Dhanush separated from his wife Aishwarya Rajinikanth in 2022, but their divorce was finalised last year in November. Together, they co-parent their sons Yatra and Linga.

According to a report in Only Kollywood, the actress, in a recent interview, debunked the dating rumours and termed her bond with Dhanush as “good friends”. She further mentioned that she found the rumours funny and revealed the real reason why the Tamil actor attended the Son of Sardaar 2 screening, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role.
“Dhanush is just a good friend to me. I’m aware that a lot of news has been circulating about the two of us being linked together recently. I just found it funny when I saw it. Dhanush attended the Son of Sardaar 2 event. No one should misunderstand that. It was Ajay Devgn who invited him,” she said.
How did Mrunal Thakur and Dhanush’s dating rumours spark?
The seed of this speculation was planted on the social media site Reddit, where a user claimed that Dhanush and Mrunal share a collaborative music playlist on Spotify. This got eagle-eyed fans digging, and they found the actors in attendance at the same social gatherings over the past few days. Most recently, Dhanush, who lives in Chennai, flew down to Mumbai to attend the movie screening of Mrunal starrer Son Of Sardaar 2. He was reportedly present at the actress’s birthday celebration on August 1.
Earlier, Mrunal attended the wrap-up party of Tere Ishq Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, raising eyebrows.
