Scam details: How did the fake transfer happen?
According to the police, Rs 2.5 crore as flood relief amount was transferred to fake bank accounts under alleged irregularities in Baroda tehsil in 2021. So far 22 Patwaris and one Tehsildar have been arrested in this scam. In this case, names of total 110 people are registered in the FIR. Amita Tomar is accused of embezzling funds worth Rs 2.5 crore through fake bank accounts along with other officials.

How did the arrest happen?
SDOP Avneet Sharma’s team arrested Amita Singh Tomar from her house in Chandravadni Naka, Gwalior. Officials say that Tomar was absent from her duty, due to which she was tracked and arrested. After his arrest, he was sent to the jail in neighboring district Shivpuri.
What happened to Tomar’s legal efforts?
Amita Singh Tomar had earlier filed petitions for anticipatory bail in the High Court and the Supreme Court, but her applications were rejected at both the places. After this, the administration also removed him from the post of Tehsildar of Vijaypur and sent him to Baroda Tehsil. Police say that Tomar was absent from duty, due to which she was searched and arrested.

According to Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar Aggarwal, this scam is being investigated by Baroda Tehsil SDOP of Sheopur district.
