MP: Rape of 6 year old girl, accused Salman absconding even after 85 hours

Salman raped a 6 year old girl in Raisen, Madhya Pradesh. When no arrest was made even after 85 hours, people blocked the highway for 14 km long. The girl’s treatment is continuing at Bhopal AIIMS. Police have announced a reward of Rs 10,000 on the accused.

Raised Minor Rape Case: A 6 year old girl was raped by Salman alias Nazar in Raisen district of Madhya Pradesh. There is a lot of anger among the people because the 23 year old accused has not been arrested even after 85 hours of the incident. On Monday 24 November, massive protests took place in Raisen and people took to the streets. In Mandideep, Chiklod, Gauharganj, Raisen and Sultanpur, people blocked the highway for several hours in protest against the incident. According to the police, Salman used to work as a laborer in the village and ran away immediately after raping the minor.

14 KM long jam on Bhopal-Jabalpur highway

In protest against the incident, the crowd blocked the Bhopal-Jabalpur-Nagpur highway from 12 noon on Monday. Hundreds of trucks, cars, school buses, ambulances and other vehicles got stuck, causing a 14-km long jam on the road. There was a jam several kilometers long on the Bhopal-Narmadapuram road. The angry crowd demands that the accused Salman should be immediately arrested and he should be given the harshest punishment like hanging or encounter.

What is the whole matter?

On the evening of November 21, a 6-year-old girl was playing outside her house in Goharganj when 23-year-old Salman took her to the nearby forest on the pretext of giving her chocolate. There he raped the girl and ran away. When the villagers reached the forest in search of the girl, they found her crying. She was taken to Obaidullaganj Hospital, where doctors confirmed rape.

The girl was referred to AIIMS

On the night of 21st November itself, the doctors referred the girl to AIIMS Bhopal. However, no ambulance was found for an hour, forcing the family to take him in a private vehicle. Due to this negligence of the administration, people’s anger increased further. Local workers of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have demanded action against the hospital management and suspension of Block Medical Officer Dr. Amrita Jeevane. At present the girl is undergoing treatment in Bhopal and doctors say that her condition is improving.

Police announced reward

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met the victim at Bhopal Hospital and also met her family. He assured strict action against the culprit and said that the government will ensure that the case is tried in a fast-track court. More than 85 hours after the incident, the accused is out of police custody. Police has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 for anyone providing information about accused Salman. For this, posters have been distributed in all the police stations and surrounding villages.
