Wheat procurement will start in Madhya Pradesh from April 9. The government has made arrangements for drinking water, shade and help desk for the farmers at the procurement centres. Declaring 2026 as Farmer Welfare Year, emphasis has been laid on providing fair prices and benefits of schemes to the farmers.

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that wheat procurement will start in the state from April 9. He has instructed all the collectors and SDMs to ensure simple and convenient arrangements for the farmers at the procurement centres.

Provision of drinking water, shade and basic facilities at procurement centers

The Chief Minister said that arrangements for drinking water and shady places are being made for the farmers at all the procurement centres. An appeal has also been made to seek cooperation from social and service related organizations in a big process like wheat procurement, so that the farmers do not face any kind of problem.

Farmers Welfare Year 2026: Government’s focus on increasing the income of farmers

The year 2026 is being celebrated as “Farmers Welfare Year” in the state. The Chief Minister said that the state government is fully committed to the welfare of farmers and decisions are being taken continuously to increase their income. He said these things during a virtual dialogue with farmer representatives and voluntary organizations from the Chief Minister’s residence.

Target to take support price of wheat to Rs 2700 per quintal

The Chief Minister said that adequate arrangements for gunny bags have been made for purchasing wheat in the state. He said that it was a big challenge to bring the price of wheat to the present level, but now the target has been set to increase it to Rs 2700 per quintal. The government’s priority is to ensure that farmers get the right and fair price for their crops.

Monitoring will be done from help desk and control room, farmers will get information

The Chief Minister said that help desks are being set up at all the procurement centres. Also, control rooms have been set up at the district level, while the entire system will be continuously monitored from the Chief Minister’s Office. Pamphlets and hoardings will be put up at procurement centers to provide information to farmers, so that they can get complete information about the procurement process and facilities.

Farmers will also be given information about government schemes

The Chief Minister has directed that the farmers coming to the procurement centers should also be informed about various welfare schemes of the government. This will make it easier for farmers to avail benefits of schemes related to their interest.
