The Chief Minister made important announcements regarding Nari Shakti Vandan Pakhwada in Madhya Pradesh, discussion on Women’s Reservation Bill, agricultural reforms under Farmer Welfare Year 2026, increase in fertilizer subsidy and development schemes in Balaghat.

Bhopal. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this week will prove to be historic in terms of women empowerment. A three-day special session of Parliament is starting from April 16, in which the Nari Shakti Vandan Act-2023 will be presented for approval. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also clarified that women of the country should get 33% reservation in the Lok Sabha and Assembly. The state government is celebrating “Nari Shakti Vandan Pakhwada” from April 10 to April 25. During this period, large scale conferences, marches and special programs will be organized in colleges across the state. The Chief Minister gave this information before the Council of Ministers meeting.

Farmers Welfare Year 2026: Emphasis on making agriculture profitable

The Chief Minister said that the year 2026 is being celebrated as Farmer Welfare Year under the theme “Prosperous Farmers-Prosperous Madhya Pradesh”. Scientists, farmers and FPOs from India and abroad participated in the Krishi Manthan workshop organized in Jabalpur on 8 April. In this workshop, topics like making agriculture a profitable business, more production with less water, easier access from farm to market and use of Artificial Intelligence were discussed. From these discussions, farmers got information about new technology and better income opportunities, which will be helpful in increasing their income.

Fertilizer Subsidy 2026: Big benefit to farmers

The Chief Minister said that despite international challenges, the Central Government is giving priority to farmers. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On 8 April 2026, the Union Cabinet has approved Nutrient Based Subsidy (NBS) on Phosphate and Potassium fertilizers for Kharif season. A budget of Rs 41,833 crore has been approved under this scheme, which is Rs 4,317 crore more than last year. With this, 28 types of fertilizers including DAP will be available to farmers at concessional rates.

Raisen Agricultural Festival: Information about new technologies

The Chief Minister said that the three-day Advanced Agriculture Festival, which started in Raisen from April 11, was inaugurated by Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was also present in this program. Information on new technologies related to advanced seeds, irrigation technology, agricultural equipment, natural farming and horticulture is being given in the festival. More than 350 stalls have been set up and several sessions are being conducted by experts.

Development in Balaghat and preparation for tribal festival. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that after the eradication of Naxal, there will be rapid development in Balaghat. This success is the result of the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Tribal festival will be organized in Balaghat in the coming month. In this, along with cultural and sports activities, camps for development schemes will be organized. Along with this, mega health camps, sickle cell screening and traditional cuisine stalls will also be set up, which will directly benefit the local people.
