Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized on agricultural innovation, drone technology, agri-startups and irrigation expansion in the program “Kisan Kalyan Ki Baat Youth with Youth” in Indore. He reiterated his commitment to make Madhya Pradesh a leading agricultural state.
Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in the program “Kisan Kalyan ki Baat Youth with Youth” organized by a private media organization at the Basketball Complex in Indore on Sunday. During this, he interacted directly with the youth, progressive farmers and agricultural experts. The main objective of the program was to strengthen youth participation in the agriculture sector, openly discuss farmer welfare schemes and promote modern farming and new technologies. A large number of youth, farmers, agricultural scientists and entrepreneurs were present in the program.
Government’s commitment towards making Madhya Pradesh a leading agricultural state.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that if the youth come forward in the agriculture sector with innovation and modern technology, then Madhya Pradesh can achieve a leading position in the country in food grain production as well as agro-based industries, organic products and agri-exports. He said that the state is continuously progressing in the agriculture sector and the government is committed to make the state the leading agricultural state of the country. This year is being celebrated as “Kisan Kalyan Varsh” dedicating it to agriculture and farmers.
Youth and farmers asked direct questions, emphasized on technology
During the dialogue program, young farmers and representatives of agriculture sector asked direct questions to the Chief Minister on various issues. Questions were also asked especially regarding agricultural development through robots. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that if the youth get involved in drone technology, organic farming, food processing and agro-based industries, they will increase their income and also strengthen the economy of the state. He stressed that with the participation of youth in agriculture, significant increase in production, quality and exports is possible. He said that the state government is running many schemes for farmers and youth, taking advantage of which the youth can become self-reliant and create new employment opportunities in rural areas.
Agriculture is getting a modern look through drones, AI and smart irrigation
The Chief Minister said that farming is being modernized with technologies like drones, artificial intelligence based agricultural management, smart irrigation system and digital marketing. Under Bhavantar Yojana, the difference amount of support price is being provided to the farmers. The government is making efforts to provide incentives to agricultural startups, training programs, subsidy schemes and strengthening Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) so that the youth can get employment and self-employment opportunities.
Target of 24 hours electricity, solar pump subsidy and expansion of irrigation area
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that 24-hour electricity is being provided to the farmers. Subsidy is being given on solar pumps, due to which the area under irrigation is continuously increasing. He said that at present the area under irrigation in Madhya Pradesh has reached 55 lakh hectares and a target has been set to increase it to 100 lakh hectares by the year 2028. He said that today agriculture is no longer just a means of livelihood, but is becoming a strong base of economic prosperity through innovation, startups and value addition. With modern technology and entrepreneurship, agriculture has become a rapidly developing sector.
