During the meeting with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in New Delhi, important issues related to the farmers of Madhya Pradesh were discussed. The proposal to purchase mustard under Bhavantar Yojana was approved and the decision was taken for 100% government purchase of tur (tur). Long term roadmap and rural plans for pulses and oilseeds were also discussed.

Important discussions were held at the central level on important issues related to agriculture and rural development related to Madhya Pradesh in New Delhi. During this, CM Mohan Yadav and representatives of Madhya Pradesh government met Union Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and discussed many issues related to the interest of the farmers of the state.

In the meeting, the state government approved the proposal to purchase mustard under the Bhavantar scheme. Along with this, it was decided to ensure 100 percent government procurement of tur (arhar), giving great relief to the farmers. With this decision, full government procurement of farmers’ produce will be possible and they will get fair price for their crops.

It was also discussed in the meeting that under the Farmer Welfare Year, special priority will be given to Madhya Pradesh on various subjects related to agriculture. Besides, a long-term roadmap will be prepared to promote the production of pulses and oilseed crops in the state, which will help in increasing the income of farmers and strengthening the agriculture sector.

Apart from this, issues related to implementation of ‘Vikas Bharat-Ji Ram Ji’ programme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, National Livelihood Mission and self-help groups were also discussed in detail in the meeting and important decisions were taken regarding their effective implementation.

On this occasion, Madhya Pradesh Rural Development Minister Prahlad Patel and senior officials of the concerned departments were also present. The meeting is being considered important for the farmers and rural development schemes of the state.
