On the occasion of Holi, there is great news for the government employees and pensioners of Madhya Pradesh. The state government led by Mohan Yadav has announced a 3 percent increase in Dearness Allowance (DA). This decision will directly benefit more than 7 lakh employees and lakhs of pensioners of the state. Now dearness allowance has increased from 55 percent to 58 percent. This relief that came during the festival season is no less than a gift for the employees.
The state government has made it clear that now the employees of Madhya Pradesh will get the same dearness allowance which the central government gives to its employees. Employee organizations were raising this demand for a long time. Ultimately the government approved it. The increased rate will be applicable from April 2026 and its effect will be visible in the salary and pension received in May 2026. However, the government has considered it effective from July 2025. That means, employees will also get arrears of the increased amount from July 2025 to March 2026.
Will get additional benefit of arrears
The government has decided to pay the arrears in six equal installments instead of paying it all at once. It will start from May 2026. With this, employees will continue to get additional amount along with increased salary every month. This amount can prove to be very helpful in their household expenses. In view of inflation, this decision will provide financial support to the employees. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the government families due to such announcement during the festival season.
How much will be the increase in salary and pension?
Now the question is how much impact this 3 percent increase will have on the pocket. If the basic salary of an employee is Rs 50,000, then earlier he used to get DA of Rs 27,500 at the rate of 55 percent. Now he will get DA of Rs 29,000 at the rate of 58 percent. That means there will be a direct monthly increase of Rs 1,500. Similarly, if the basic pension of a pensioner is Rs 30,000, then earlier he used to get Dearness Relief (DR) of Rs 16,500. Now it will increase to Rs 17,400. That means you will get Rs 900 more every month. If seen in a year, this amount becomes a considerable amount.
double happiness on festival
Holi is a festival of colors and happiness. In such a situation, the news of increase in salary and pension has further increased the happiness of the employees. Amid rising inflation, this decision is being considered as a relief. The government says that keeping the financial condition of the employees strong is its priority. This announcement will directly benefit not only working employees but also retired people. Overall, this government gift on Holi has brought relief news for millions of families.
