Morgan Rogers In An Uncomfortable Spot Amid Transfer Speculation Ahead Of The World Cup

Morgan Rogers is facing heavy transfer speculation before the World Cup, yet insists the noise will not distract England. The Aston Villa forward says the uncertainty around the next move will be used positively while preparing for the Three Lions’ campaign on the global stage.

The 23-year-old produced a standout 2025-26 season for Aston Villa, scoring 10 Premier League goals from 6.8 expected goals, underlining sharp finishing. Only Ollie Watkins, with 19 league goal involvements, contributed more for Villa. Rogers also helped Villa lift the Europa League title during that campaign.

Strong club form has led to interest from several teams, with Premier League champions Arsenal named among the clubs linked. Rogers is now approaching the World Cup with that background of rumours, aware that discussions over the future will continue while England chase a deep run in the tournament.

Speaking on the Rest Is Football Podcast, Rogers described what the first wave of attention felt like. He said: “I think the first time it ever happened it was, when asked if transfer speculation affects his concentration. You’re in an uncomfortable spot of not realising that people have so much interest in you and you’re not quite realising that.”

Rogers accepts that transfer talk is now part of a leading player’s career but aims to protect focus. Rogers said: “But as you get older and gain experience along the way, you know that comes with it and 95%of it is just noise. You hear it, of course you do. You cant help not [hearing it]. You know its there but youve got to use it in a positive way. You just try and get on with your game and just focus.”

With England targeting progress deep into the World Cup, Rogers knows full concentration is required. The forward plans to treat speculation as background noise while building on a strong Aston Villa season, aiming to carry club momentum into international duty and contribute to the Three Lions’ push.
