Jan Suraj Party on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the state government regarding the law and order situation in Bihar. Senior party leader and former Additional Director General of Police of Himachal Pradesh Jai Prakash Singh, citing government figures, claimed that the rate of crime in Bihar is much higher than the national average.
In a press conference held at the party office in Patna, Singh claimed that between 2015 and 2024, there has been an increase of more than 80 percent in criminal cases in Bihar, whereas in the same period, crime in the entire country has increased by only 24 percent.
He said that these figures are a clear indication that the crime control policy in Bihar is proving unsuccessful and the state government is avoiding accepting the ground reality.
Singh claimed that in the last 10 years, about 80 thousand to one lakh such cases are pending in Bihar, in which warrants have been issued or attachment-confiscation orders have been given, but till now the action has not been completed.
