Major benefits to consumers from smart meter

1. Complete transparency in billing

Smart meters send readings in real-time. This eliminates problems like wrong billing or estimate based billing.

2. Strict control on electricity theft

The readings are automatically sent to the server, eliminating the possibility of meter tampering. This effectively prevents electricity theft.

3. All electricity services at home

Now there is no need to go to the electricity office to pay the bill or get information.

Consumption, billing, payments, everything is available on the online app and portal.

4. Complete control over power consumption

Consumers can view power consumption in real-time on their mobile app or portal. This makes energy saving and budget control easier.

5. Prepaid meter facility (where applicable)

Prepaid meters work like recharge – the more electricity you buy, the more you will consume.

This results in better control over expenses.

6. Instant information about faults and power cuts

In smart meter, the system immediately tells whether there is a fault in the line or the power has been cut. With this the problem can be solved faster.

7. Help in load management

The system automatically understands load patterns, making power distribution more organized and smooth.
