More than 30% increase in heart checkups in Delhi-NCR, increased concern over heart attack, youth become aware

Increase in tests for heart diseases

There has been an increase in the demand for heart related tests in Delhi-NCR this year. According to a recent report, there has been an increase of more than 30 percent in the number of people adopting heart screening options like CT coronary angiography and treadmill test (TMT) in the region. This trend indicates that people are now becoming more alert and aware of early detection of heart diseases.

This information has come to light in the report of Mahajan Imaging and Labs conducted between January and August 2025. According to this report, during this period the number of TMT tests has increased by 34.6 percent and the number of CT coronary angiography has increased by 30.6 percent. At the same time, an increase of about 10 percent has been seen in the number of tests like echocardiography.

Health awareness increased among youth

Kabir Mahajan, Chief Operating Officer, Mahajan Imaging and Labs, said that this change is especially visible in the age group of 25 to 45 years. He said, we are seeing that people are no longer waiting to get sick, but are getting tested in time. Preventive tests such as TMT and CT coronary angiography are becoming increasingly popular. He called it a sign of change in mindset, in which diagnosis is now being given priority before treatment.

Increased vigilance due to sudden heart attack cases

According to Dr. Harsh Mahajan, founder and chairman of the lab, in recent years there has been an increase in concern about sudden heart-related deaths among the youth, due to which a large number of people are giving priority to getting regular heart checkups done. He said, increasing awareness towards health and the tendency to catch heart diseases before time can play an important role in preventing diseases in the future.

CT angiography is getting priority

It has been reported that people are now giving preference to CT coronary angiography considering it to be a safe and low radiation procedure. Experts believe that this technology is becoming an effective means of knowing the condition of the heart in a non-invasive manner.
