Jagran Bureau, New Delhi: Two separate low-pressure areas over Rajasthan and the Bay of Bengal have reinvigorated the monsoon. A western disturbance is also active in the mountains.
Due to the effect of these three weather systems, rain activity is expected to intensify in the North India states over the next two-three days.
Heavy Rain To Hit Delhi-NCR, Himachal, Uttarakhand
Systems over the Bay of Bengal and Rajasthan are strengthening each other, increasing the supply of moisture to North India and broadening the rainfall. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), isolated heavy rain is possible in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh.
The risk of landslides, cloudbursts, and river overflows has also increased in hilly states. So far, the country has received about 15 per cent less rainfall than normal. Meteorologists believe that the two active low-pressure systems may make up for some of the rainfall deficit in the next few days.
According to IMD, the low pressure area over the Bay of Bengal and adjacent Odisha coast is steadily strengthening. It will strengthen further by Monday. It is then expected to cross the Odisha and Bengal coasts between Paradip and Sagar Island.
Weather In Odisha And Jharkhand
Isolated heavy rain is likely in Odisha and Jharkhand. Very heavy rain is also forecast in the Gangetic region of Bengal, while heavy rain is also expected at many locations in Chhattisgarh on July 27.
Meanwhile, a low-pressure area already active over southwest Rajasthan is continuously drawing moisture from the Arabian Sea. This is why the monsoon is beginning to reactivate in western and central India. The effects will become more pronounced in the north starting Monday.
Heavy Rain To Lash UP
Rain activity will increase over Delhi, eastern Haryana, and western Uttar Pradesh. Moderate to heavy rain is forecast in several districts of Uttar Pradesh. Interior parts of Bihar may also receive good rain. However, intermittent showers will prevail over most parts of Bihar.
An active western disturbance in the mountains to the west is expected to bring continuous heavy rain to Himachal and Uttarakhand. Heavy rain is expected in Himachal, Punjab, Haryana, and Delhi on July 28.
Landslides, Cloudbursts Alert In Himachal Pradesh
The risk of landslides, cloudbursts, road closures, and flash floods may increase, particularly in Himachal Pradesh. Authorities have advised vigilance in vulnerable areas. Many parts of Rajasthan will receive heavy rain over the next two days. Rainfall activity will also be intense in Madhya Pradesh.
