Monsoon LIVE Updates: Monsoon is expected to pick up pace in different parts of the country in the upcoming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall to continue over Northwest, Central, East & Northeast India during the next 7 days, with intense downpour over Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh on 30th June, 2025.
Delhi has witnessed scorching heat since the start of June. However, the city’s prolonged wait may now finally end as the Met Department has sounded a yellow alert for rain on Sunday and Monday. On the other hand, several parts of Delhi/NCR received intense showers on Saturday evening, offering much-needed respite to the residents.
In its latest press release, IMD said, “Conditions are becoming favourable for further advance of Southwest monsoon over the remaining parts of the country during the next 2 days.” A warning for heavy rain has also been issued for intense downpours over Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh during 28th June-4th July; Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh during 29th June-2nd July; West Rajasthan on 3rd & 04th July; East Rajasthan during 1st-4th July. Residents are not advised to leave their umbrellas at home.
The other affected places are Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand & Odisha during 29th June-4th July; Vidarbha on 1st & 2nd July; Andaman & Nicobar Islands on 29th June; Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim during 30th June-2nd July; Gangetic West Bengal during 29th June-1st July; Bihar during 29th June-4th July.
