The monsoon has a way of slowing down the fast-paced life. For television actress who currently plays the titular role of Sneha in Zee TV’s Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan—the season brings a welcome mix of nostalgia, sudden shoot halts, and mandatory culinary indulgences.
From her favourite rainy-day soundtracks to how she tackles unpredictable outdoor schedules, Amandeep opens up about her love affair with the rains.
When it comes to looking out at a rain-drenched skyline, Amandeep has her vibe perfectly figured out. Instead of modern tracks, she leans heavily into the classics to match the mood. “Yeh Raatein Yeh Mausam is my all-time favourite song,” she shares, capturing the timeless romance of old Bollywood under a heavy downpour.
For Amandeep, a rainy day is best spent on the move. “I love to go on long drives, sometimes with friends and also alone. During the monsoon, I have often visited Igatpuri, which is amazing.”
While she is normally a loyal coffee drinker, the monsoon forces a strict, culturally mandatory shift in her daily routine. “I usually do not drink tea. I am normally a coffee lover. But in monsoon, I make sure I drink tea with piping hot Maggi,” she confesses.
Recalling the initial days of filming Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, Amandeep laughs about how the weather completely took control of their daily schedule. “Last year, we in fact started shooting for Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan during the monsoon in Chandigarh. Almost every day, we used to chill in our vanities because our sets are outdoors, and we were forced to halt the shoot.”
Amandeep explains that the cast and crew choose to lean into the lazy, cosy energy of the season. “Monsoon days are lazy days, I must say! On sets, we do a lot of masti, amid finishing our shoot for the telecast deadlines.”
