Money is not enough for Gen Z, this is how the new generation is changing the job culture.

New generation work culture

Now both the way of doing jobs and thinking are changing in India. Today’s new generation i.e. Gen Z is not just running after salary, but is giving more importance to flexibility, goals and self-reliance in work. This change is proving to be the beginning of a new era for companies.

Work-life balance along with job

According to Randstad India’s latest report ‘The Gen Z Workplace Blueprint’, youth born between 1997 and 2007 are defining their careers in a new way. This generation believes that merely staying in a job for a long time is not a sign of success. For them, work-life balance, flexible working hours and the opportunity to work freely with better salary are more important.

Vacation and travel now an important factor

According to the report, today’s generation does not like to live only within the four walls of the office. Along with work, they also consider facilities like travel, remote work and working from abroad important. Many youth are choosing such jobs which give them an opportunity to see the world and learn new things.

Both excitement and fear about AI

According to the report, 82% of Gen Z professionals are very excited about Artificial Intelligence (AI). They believe that AI is making their work easier and helps them learn new skills. But along with this, 44% of the youth are also worried that this technology may become a threat to their jobs in future. Still, 52% of the youth are regularly acquiring AI related skills.

Big challenge and opportunity for companies

According to Vishwanath PS, CEO of Randstad India, only those companies that provide flexible policies, inclusive environment and continuous learning opportunities will be able to attract Gen Z talent. Today’s generation wants their company to invest in their growth and value their ideas.

goodbye to old thinking

While older generations valued things like stability and pensions, Gen Z value purpose and freedom at work. They prefer employers who give them the freedom to grow, learn and do things their own way.
