It has been more than a month since the Indian team won the Asia Cup 2025 title. But Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board and Asian Cricket Council, has not yet given the tournament trophy to India. Recently, BCCI had written a letter to ACC demanding to send the trophy to Mumbai, but Naqvi is adamant. Naqvi wants himself to hand over the trophy to a BCCI representative and a member of the Indian team. This entire matter has further increased the tension between the two boards, and this issue may become heated in the ICC meeting. However, Mohsin Naqvi may stay away from this meeting.

Mohsin Naqvi scared of BCCI?

In fact, it is considered difficult for Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to attend the four-day ICC Executive Board meeting going on in Dubai. The reason for this is said to be domestic political issues. In this meeting, BCCI is going to raise the issue of delay in handing over the Asia Cup trophy to India, which may increase pressure on Naqvi.

A PCB source said that in place of Naqvi, the Board’s Chief Operating Officer Sumair Syed will participate in the meeting of Chief Executives. If Naqvi is unable to reach Dubai, then only Syed can represent Pakistan in the important board meeting to be held on November 7. However, there is also a possibility of Naqvi attending the meeting through video conferencing.

There was a lot of chaos in Asia Cup

Let us tell you, the final of Asia Cup 2025 was played at the end of September, but the trophy is still kept locked at the ACC headquarters in Dubai. Due to which BCCI can raise the demand for action against Mohsin Naqvi in the meeting. After the Asia Cup final, the winning Indian players refused to accept the trophy from Naqvi’s hands. This decision of the players is said to be related to Naqvi’s anti-India statements. After which Naqvi took the trophy with him and he has not yet given the trophy to Team India. Apart from this, Naqvi is also the Home Minister of Pakistan and he has not attended any ICC meeting since Jay Shah was elected ICC Chairman last year.
