Mohsin Naqvi issues official statement after BCCI threatens him of ICC decided on Asia Cup trophy

Pakistan Cricket Board’s chairperson Mohsin Naqvi has reported that Pakistan will not back off from the ICC meeting on the Asia Cup trophy debate with the BCCI. They will not leave the field open for India, as claimed by the PCB Chief.

Mohsin Naqvi vs India has been a common tale since the Asia Cup 2025 final. The Indian team won the trophy but denied taking it at the hands of Naqvi, who also holds a position in the Pakistan Internal Ministry and heads the Asian Cricket Council.

Naqvi, out of humiliation, took the trophy off the field and has not yet handed it to the Men in Blue, and has responded to all claims from the BCCI with a stern notice to send a player over to collect it from his office at the ACC headquarters in Dubai.

“Pakistan will not leave the field open for India,” Mohsin Naqvi’s vindictive motive revealed

According to reports from Indian media, the BCCI is not supposed to settle the long-standing dispute over the Asia Cup trophy row with the ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. They have intended to take the matter to the ICC meeting from the 4th to the 7th of November.

The PCB Chief stood firm on his decision not to send the trophy over to the Indian subcontinent without someone from the BCCI or the Indian team officially taking it from his hands. Some had also claimed this to be an unnecessary display of arrogance.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi said, “Pakistan will not leave the field open for India on the Asia Cup trophy issue. India may try to raise the matter, but Pakistan will fully participate at the ICC meeting in Dubai from Nov 4-7.”

All eyes are set on Dubai from the 4th to the 7th of November

The BCCI sources had reported to the PTI that they are preparing to escalate things to the ICC Board Meeting. The ICC is currently headed by former BCCI Secretary Jay Shah. They will not only claim the trophy but also push for Naqvi’s removal from his post in the Asian Cricket Council.

However, Naqvi doesn’t seem to be bothered by the buzz over his impeachment despite the fact that India has the support of two major Test-playing cricket boards, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, against Mohsin Naqvi in the ACC.

For now, all eyes are on Dubai, where a regional dispute for the first time would be raised within the International body meeting. Mohsin Naqvi’s participation still remains under the scanner; however, he has confirmed Pakistan’s participation in the meeting.

Babar Azam breaks batting jinx to lead Pakistan to T20I series win

Pakistan battled South Africa well in the ongoing series after having a draw in the two-match Test series against the WTC defending champions. The runners-up of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 have been crushed with a defeat in the three-match series against the Asia Cup runners-up.

Pakistan might have started with a loss in the series, but bounced back later. They won the second match with a dominating performance from Saim Ayub, and the third T20 match saw their most veteran batter, Babar Azam, return to form.

Babar Azam scored 68 runs off 47 balls with a great strike rate of 144.68, as they chased the target of 140 runs with an over remaining. He is currently the highest run-getter in T20 international cricket.
