Mumbai: Mohit Suri’s ‘Saiyaara’, featuring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, is making headlines for evoking unreal reactions in theatres. The film, released on Friday, has managed to captivate audiences, leaving some crying and others dancing. The dramatic responses from theatre goers have also sparked the curiosity of those who are yet to watch the movie.

A recent video shared on social media showcased a man watching the movie with an IV attached to his hand. The viewer was seen becoming extremely emotional and holding on to his saline stand kept beside him. Some netizens criticised the man for prioritising the movie over his health. Many social media users, on the other hand, were keen to understand the hype around the movie. Another clip showed women crying inconsolably.  Several other clips documented the ecstatic reactions of audiences.  Some were unconscious in the theatre, others were seen singing the movie’s song in unison and swaying.

Discussions about the movie and its theatre responses are in full swing on Reddit too. Those who watched the movie shared their experiences on the social forum. One Redditor commented, “Watched the movie just , I should not lie but the story is soo good and actors have done fair job with the roles, it will make you emotional (sic).” Another shared,  “Actually, when this song plays in the movie, it is so fantastically shown. I got goosebumps and was crying like crazy. Ppl were whistling and shouting in my theatre. I guess ppl react differently when the content exceeds their expectations. Let ppl enjoy how they want to (sic).

As per reports, the romantic drama earned Rs 21 crore on its opening day. The movie is expected to cross Rs 83 crore soon.
