Actor Mohanlal expressed his joy over friend Mammootty’s recovery from an undisclosed illness. He even gave an update about Mammootty’s professional front and announced that the veteran will likely resume dubbing next month and gradually return to films.
Speaking to Manorama News during ,Mohanlal expressed immense gratitude and happiness over Mammootty’s recovery, crediting the progress to the prayers and support of countless well-wishers.
“I spoke to him shortly after hearing about his recovery. From what I understand, he’s planning to return to work next month and will begin dubbing soon,” he said.
Adding, the actor shared that he also offered prayers for Mammootty during his visit to Sabarimala a few months ago. “I prayed for him in SabarimalaI prayed elsewhere as well. Whenever I went out, people would ask me about him. So many people prayed for him, and that’s what helped him return to health without any issues. I am very thankful to God for that,” Mohanlal said.
The 65-year-old actor recalled that Mammootty, 73, had to go on treatment when they were shooting for their film together. “He went for treatment while we were working on ‘Patriot’.”
The actor’s health concerns, initially sparking worry, were kept private, with his team dismissing any severe rumours. The clarity and relief now surrounding Mammootty’s health have been met with joy from fans and colleagues alike, including Mohanlal, who prayed for his recovery at Sabarimala.
Reports suggest that Mammootty will begin shooting for director Mahesh Narayan’s ‘Patriot’. An official confirmation is still awaited.
