Mohammed Siraj Overtakes MASSIVE Sachin Tendulkar Tally After Four-Fer In 5th Test Vs England

India are currently taking on England in the final Test of the five-match series at the Oval in London. After being all out for 224 in the first innings, India were on the backfoot, especially after the explosibe start to the England innings by Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett.

However, India turned thimgs around and bounced back into the game, as they bundled England out for 247, thus just letting them take a 23-run lead. One of the main architechts of India’s fightback with the ball was Mohammed Siraj, who took four wickets. With his incredible efforts, Siraj has now gone past the tally of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar.

Mohammed Siraj now has 118 wickets in Test Matches. This is in addition to the 71 wickets in ODIs and 14 wickets in T20Is. He has thus 203 wickets in international cricket. He goes past Sachin Tendulkar, who has 201 international wickets. Tendulkar picked up 46 Test wickets, 154 ODI wickets, and 1 T20I wicket.

Mohammed Siraj Creates History

Mohammed Siraj took the important wickets of Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook and Jamie Smith in the England innings.

With his incredible bowling performance, the 31-year-old pacer broke Jasprit Bumrah’s record for the most four-wicket hauls by an Indian in England. He is also the first Asian pacer since Waqar Younis to take six four-wicket hauls in England. Waqar had held the record for 29 years since his sixth four-for in England in 1996.

Siraj is now the highest wicket-taker in the series with 17 wickets. Among the two teams, him and Chris Woakes are the only pacers or pace-bowling all-rounders to play all five games. The injury to Woakes on Day 1 means that the Indian star will be the only fast-bowler to bowl in all 10 innings of the series from eitehr team.
