New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mohammed Shami has delivered a sensational performance in the IPL 2026 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday, April 5. He removed SRH’s dangerous opening duo, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, on consecutive deliveries.
Shami dismissed Abhishek Sharma for a duck on the last ball of the first over. He bowled a slower delivery, and Abhishek went hard to play a drive, but got a thick edge of the bat. Siddarth dived across and took a good catch at short third man.
The LSG fast bowler then removed Travis Head for 7 runs on the first ball of the third over. Shami bowled a cutter, and Head played the shot early. He tries to check it at the last moment but hits it in the air towards mid-off, and Markram takes a good diving catch.

Shami bowled brilliantly against SRH and conceded just 9 runs at an economy rate of 2.20, taking 2 crucial wickets. He has also taken 25 wickets in the powerplay since IPL 2023, the second-highest after Trent Boult’s 32.
