Mohammed Shami 5 Wicket Haul: The Bengal team has once again demonstrated its strength in the elite group of Ranji Trophy 2025-26. On the basis of the brilliant bowling of star bowler Mohammed Shami, Bengal has pushed Services on the backfoot in the first match of the second phase. Mohammed Shami has been struggling for a long time to make a place in Team India. But in this match, amazing bowling was seen from his side. In the second innings of the match, he single-handedly dismissed half the team.
Mohammed Shami opened his claws
The Bengal team has strengthened its hold in this match being played at the Bengal Cricket Academy Ground. Batting first, Bengal had scored 519 runs. But the Services team could not do anything special in response and were all out after scoring 186 runs. After this, Bengal gave follow-on to Services and once again asked him to bat. But this time also the services batsmen flopped. By the end of the third day’s play, Services lost 8 wickets for 231 runs in their second innings.
Mohammed Shami bowled very lethally in this innings. He made 5 batsmen his victims while spending only 51 runs in 16 overs. During this, he also bowled 3 maiden overs. Mohammed Shami had bowled well in the first innings of this match also. He also bowled 16 overs in the first innings and took 2 wickets while giving 37 runs. This form of Mohammed Shami is a good sign for the Bengal team, which is currently on top in Group-C. Bengal has won 3 out of 5 matches so far and is very close to the fourth win.
Not getting a chance in Team India
Even though Mohammed Shami is consistently performing well in domestic cricket, he is not able to make a place in Team India. He played his last match for India in March last year, which was the final match of the Champions Trophy. Apart from this, he has not played any test match for Team India since the year 2023.
