Allen smashed a stunning 151 off just 51 balls, setting a new world record for the most sixes in a T20 innings – hitting 19 sixes, surpassing Chris Gayle’s long-standing record of 18.
Allen’s explosive innings came at a breathtaking strike rate of 296.08, with 134 of his runs coming via boundaries.
He dismantled the opposition attack on a baseball-turned-cricket field with uneven dimensions, entertaining the crowd with relentless power hitting.
Thanks to Allen’s knock, the Unicorns registered a towering total of 269/3 in 20 overs – the highest team score in MLC history. He was well-supported by Sanjay Krishnamurthi (36 off 20) and Hassan Khan (38 off 18).
