Chennai: Popular Tamil film director Mithran R. Jawahar is set to take audiences on a nostalgic trip with his new web series, ‘Notebook 90s – Kadhal Flashback’.
The series, co-produced with Sony VIZHA and Sony LIV, aims to rekindle the magic of the 1990s, an era he describes as holding a ‘special place in our hearts’ for its unique warmth in friendships, family, and relationships.
Jawahar expressed his hope that the show will evoke fond memories for viewers, making them smile as they recall their own experiences from that time. Directed by Sadhasivam and written by Neelan, under Jawahar’s creative vision, ‘Notebook 90s’ promises a tender school-day love story set in 1990s Trichy.
The narrative follows Gautham (Muzzamil Elias) and Gayathri (Yuva), whose journey from a playful prank to first love captures the excitement, awkwardness, and eventual heartbreak of young romance. The series celebrates a time when school corridors brimmed with possibilities and small moments created lasting memories. Adding a poignant touch, Bhavana makes a special cameo as the older Gayathri, bridging the past with the present. The series is slated to premiere on November 23 at 7:30 PM on Sony VIZHA and Sony LIV.
