Under Mission Shakti 5.0, the safety, respect and self-reliance of women is being strengthened in UP. Security has increased through help desk, pink patrol, cyber monitoring. Schemes like Kanya Sumangala, Lakhpati Didi and BC Sakhi are making women financially capable.
Lucknow. As soon as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took command of Uttar Pradesh, women’s safety, respect and self-reliance became the priority of the government. Mission Shakti, run by the government for women empowerment, is today giving a new direction of security and self-reliance to the women of the state. This model is a big campaign to strengthen half the population.
Mission Shakti 5.0: New era of women power in UP
The clear message of the Chief Minister is – “Women power is the power of the nation.” In this special campaign which will run till 24th December, various departments are running awareness programs every day. The message of “safety and respect, women’s rights” is continuously being spread in the state through police chaupals, street rallies and awareness activities.
Women’s help desk in 1647 police stations: Strong support for every woman
Women help desks are active in 1647 police stations of the state, where every woman is getting immediate assistance.
- Mahila beat system and anti Romeo squads are continuously patrolling in rural and urban areas.
- Pink Patrol is available 24×7 and is ensuring security by immediately reaching schools, colleges, markets and crowded places.
- Extensive use of technology through 1090, cyber monitoring cell, digital tracking and immediate action on fake accounts has given great relief to women.
- Cyber security workshops organized in colleges are making girl students aware and competent towards digital security.
UP Model of Safety and Respect: Swift Justice and Strict Action
Investigation of crimes against women is being completed rapidly in the state, due to which the victims are getting timely justice. High clearance rates and harsh sentences have further strengthened the security environment. Trained officers remain posted in Mission Shakti Kendras for 3–5 years, so that the schemes can be implemented more effectively.
Increasing step in economic independence: New shine in the lives of women
Many schemes are proving effective in the state to promote women economic empowerment – initiatives like BC Sakhi, Self Help Groups, Lakhpati Didi are making women self-reliant. With this, Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Mass Marriage Scheme and Destitute Women Pension have given a new flight to daughters and needy women.
Empowerment from door to door: Benefits of Ujjwala, Swamitva and Poshan Abhiyan
Schemes like Mission Shakti as well as Ujjwala Yojana, Swamvit Yojana, Poshan Abhiyaan, Rani Lakshmibai Fund have strengthened women and mother-child health. Mission Shakti 5.0 has today become the foundation stone of a state prosperous with empowered women.
