Mission Shakti 5.0: Mission Shakti in UP under the leadership of CM Yogi Adityanath is bringing a new revolution in women’s safety, economic empowerment and education. Help desk, women beat, bike rally and schemes are making women safe and self -sufficient.

Lucknow. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, there has been a big change in the situation of women in Uttar Pradesh. In the fields of education, health, security, employment and awareness, schemes have established new dimensions towards women empowerment. Sensitive and visionary policies have not only given women economic self -reliance, but have brought new heights of security and respect.

Mission Shakti 5.0 starts on Navratri

On the occasion of Sharadiya Navratri, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started Mission Shakti 5.0. This campaign has become a social movement, not only a government program. All departments are running different awareness campaigns every day regarding the safety and awareness of women. The Chief Minister says that “women power is the national power” and now no daughter will leave her dreams incomplete.

Solid steps for women safety

The Yogi government has taken many big steps to strengthen women safety:

  • Women’s help desk installed in all 1,647 police stations of the state.
  • Last year 6,48,664 complaints filed, out of which 6,47,095 disposal.
  • Women Power Line-1090 was further strengthened. From January 2024 to August 2025, more than 7.75 lakh complaints were filed, out of which 99% of cases were resolved.

Scope of security to rural areas

The government did not limit women safety to cities only, but made special arrangements from village to village:

  • The formation of 9,172 female beat.
  • 19,839 women police officers posted.
  • Anti Romeo Squad checked more than 1.18 crore and made more than 33 thousand arrests.
  • Till now, 12 criminals have been sentenced to death penalty and 987 life imprisonment due to quick action on women crimes.
  • According to the ITSSO portal, UP ranks first in the country with 98.80% disposal rate.

Mission Shakti Centers Arrangement

DGP Rajiv Krishna informed that the appointment of policemen in Mission Shakti Kendras will be for 3 to 5 years. These will have 50% women. Separate rooms, computers, stationery, women toilets and other resources will be provided in the centers.

Bike rally of safety and honor

On the instructions of CM Yogi, women police personnel took out a bike rally. Roads echoed with slogans like “security and respect, woman’s rights”. The public welcomed the rally with applause and Pushpavarsha. The Chief Minister introduced the Mission Shakti Kendra in all 1,663 police stations and shared information about helpline numbers related to women.

Emphasis on economic empowerment of women

To make women self -reliant, the Yogi government launched many schemes:

  • Banking Correspondent (BC) Sakhi Scheme in 57,000 Gram Panchayats.
  • Authentication of 49,376 BC Sakhis so far. Out of these, 40 thousand women have earned an income of more than Rs 100 crore.
  • More than 95 lakh women were connected to 8.73 lakh self -help groups from the State Rural Livelihood Mission.
  • So far under the Lakhpati Mahila Yojana, more than 31 lakh women identified, of which 2 lakh millionaires in the category.

Special attention to the health of women and children

  • Financial assistance to 60 lakh mothers from Pradhan Mantri Matri Vandana Yojana.
  • Nutrition campaign prevention of anemia and diarrhea in children.
  • Assistance to 7,105 women and girls from Rani Laxmibai Child and Women’s Honor Fund.

New flights to daughters in education

  • 25.96 lakh daughters benefit from Chief Minister Kanya Sumangla Yojana. Help amount now Rs 25,000.
  • Free education up to graduation.
  • Meritorious girl students were honored with Rani Laxmibai Scooty Scheme.

Mass marriage scheme for poor families

  • So far, 4.67 lakh couples got married under the Chief Minister Group Marriage Scheme.
  • Financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh to each couple.
  • 36.75 lakh women benefited from destitute women’s pension scheme.

Women ownership and social rights

  • Free gas connection to 1.86 crore families from Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
  • Gharauni’s ownership of 1.10 crore families under the Pradhan Mantri Owner’s Scheme, most of which in the name of women.
  • Group rights to grandson, niece and niece in Revenue Code.
  • Muslim women without Maharam Haj pilgrimage facilities.
  • Women’s labor force participation increased from 13.5% of 2017 to 34.5% in 2024.

Women power is the national power

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath says that “security, honor and self -reliance is the basis of a strong society and rich nation.” Mission Shakti 5.0 and its related schemes have put this resolution on the ground. Today, women of Uttar Pradesh are not only feeling safe, but are also making active contribution in the development of society and state by becoming self -sufficient.
