Mirzapur The Movie Picks Up Pace, BMS Sales Jump 59.95% On Saturday

Mirzapur: The Movie is going berserk at the box office, with audiences turning up in massive numbers across the country. The big-screen adaptation of the popular web series is making a strong start at the ticket windows, signalling that the Mirzapur franchise has successfully carried its audience from streaming to cinemas.

On Saturday, the film crossed 643K tickets, marking its biggest single-day booking figure so far and a 59.95% jump over Friday’s 402K-plus tickets on BookMyShow (BMS). The sharp rise points to strong weekend growth, with audience demand picking up significantly after the opening day. The trend across multiplexes and single screens gives the film a solid base heading into the rest of the weekend.

Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and produced by Excel Entertainment in association with Amazon MGM Studios, the A-rated crime drama brings back Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Rasika Dugal and Shweta Tripathi Sharma in their popular roles.

With the franchise’s core cast returning and its theatrical format drawing strong early response, Mirzapur: The Movie has a clear opportunity to turn its opening weekend into a sizeable theatrical run.
