After three successful seasons of Mirzapur, the makers officially announced a film, Mirzapur: The Movie, which serves as a prequel. Starring Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Divyenndu and Jitendra Kumar, the film is scheduled for a big-screen release on September 4 this year. Directed by Gurmmeet Singh, the project has retained a majority of its original star cast. Ali, who played Guddu Pandit in the Amazon Prime Video show, will reprise his role in the film. Ahead of its release, Zoom has exclusively learned how the iconic character has been reimagined for Mirzapur: The Movie.

An independent industry told us, “With , Ali Fazal’s Guddu Pandit is set to reveal his most ferocious side yet. The film is said to pick up with Guddu carrying the emotional scars and rage of everything he has lost, pushing him into a far darker, more ruthless space where revenge becomes his only driving force.”

The source further revealed that Ali’s character has been reimagined for the silver screen on a larger scale. Guddu Pandit’s journey is expected to be one of the film’s biggest hooks. The actor might be seen leading a version of his character that is more ‘volatile, intense and unpredictable’ than before.
Mirzapur: The Movie star cast
The star-studded cast of Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios’ film also includes Ravi Kishan, Harshita Gaur, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, Sheeba Chaddha, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Rajesh Tailang, and others. Pankaj Tripathi will be seen reprising the role of Kaleen Bhaiya, while Divyenndu will portray the character of Munna. Jitendra has stepped into the Mirzapur universe as Bablu, which was originally played Vikrant Massey.

On the work front, is currently riding high on the success of his series, Raakh. Based on the 1978 Ranga Billa case, the series received rave reviews from critics and audiences alike. Co-starring Sonali Bendre, Akash Makhija, Rakesh Bedi, Ramandeep Yadav and others, the show is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Before Mirzapur: The Movie, the actor will be seen in Rajkumar Santoshi’s Batwara 1947. Featuring Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi and Preity Zinta in key roles, the movie has been scheduled for a theatrical release on August 14, 2026. It will clash with Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan 2.
