The locally assembled Mini Countryman C has finally been launched in India at Rs 47.5 lakh. Pre-bookings for the model are already underway nationwide. Following the Electric and JCW All4, it’s the third and most affordable addition to the Countryman lineup. Compared to the fully imported JCW All4, the locally assembled Countryman C is nearly Rs 18.65 lakh more affordable.
It now competes with the Audi Q3, BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA in terms of pricing. BMW Group’s Chennai facility will serve as the assembly hub for the Countryman C. The model is being offered in five colour options – Slate Blue, Chilli Red, British Racing Green, Nanuq White and Smokey Green.
Starting with the engine, the Mini Countryman C uses a 1.5L, three-cylinder turbo petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This engine pushes out a healthy 156bhp and 240Nm of torque. It comes with the FWD (front-wheel drive) system. The Countryman C accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 9.0 seconds and offers a maximum speed of 212kmph. It returns a claimed fuel efficiency of 15.92kmpl, with a 60-litres fuel tank capacity.
The overall dimensions of the Mini Countryman C stand at 4,447mm in length, 1,843mm in width and 1,661mm in height, respectively. It has a 2,692mm long wheelbase and a ground clearance of 190mm. The model runs of 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels. Design highlights include adaptive LED headlamps, front and rear LED DRLs with customizable light signatures, an octagonal grille and revised LED taillamps. Champagne-finish detailing further enhances its sporty appeal.
