The commitment from these firms marks one of the largest enterprise AI rollouts in the country. For many in the industry, the scale signals that India’s technology backbone is shifting quickly toward agentic AI systems that support decision making, automate repetitive work and reshape delivery across global operations.
Four IT giants commit to large Copilot rollouts
Microsoft said the four companies are working toward becoming Frontier Firms. The term represents organizations that build everyday workflows around human agent collaboration with AI systems. According to Microsoft, embedding Copilot into core operations will influence areas such as sales, finance, HR and customer engagement.
Puneet Chandok, President of Microsoft India and South Asia, said, “Cognizant, Infosys, TCS, and Wipro aren’t just embracing AI, they’re setting the global pace.” He noted that the companies are shifting from pilot programs to full scale deployment and positioning AI as a trusted digital collaborator.
Cognizant expands work on agentic solutions
Cognizant announced an expanded partnership focused on bringing Microsoft’s generative AI and Copilot tools to millions of enterprise users. The company said that acting as client zero allowed it to refine Copilot and develop agentic workflows for clients.
CEO Ravi Kumar S said, “We’re experiencing the largest infrastructure investment in tech history.” He added that Cognizant aims to bridge the gap between spending on AI infrastructure and business value. He said generative AI can transform every business and industry.
Infosys strengthens multi agent model development
Infosys said it is deepening its AI collaboration with Microsoft as part of its shift toward a human plus agent operating model. The company described Copilot as central to one of the world’s largest AI deployments and said it is integrating Microsoft’s Intelligence Layer with its own platforms, Infosys Topaz Fabric and Infosys Cobalt.
CEO Salil Parekh said, “As we scale AI across every dimension of Infosys, our collaboration with Microsoft is truly strategic.” He said Infosys is moving from traditional workflows to AI driven operations aimed at improving agility and decision making.
TCS brings Copilot into enterprise functions
TCS said it is introducing Copilot across sales, HR and finance. The company said tools such as GitHub Copilot are helping internal teams generate code and digitize operations. TCS added that all employees now have access to a personalized AI coach and noted Microsoft’s role in its global hackathon that involved more than 2.8 lakh participants.
CEO K Krithivasan said, “At TCS, we are building a future ready organization.” He said Microsoft’s cloud, data and AI technologies play a major role in its transformation.
Wipro launches innovation hub with Microsoft
Wipro has entered a three year partnership with Microsoft, launching a Microsoft Innovation Hub at its Partner Labs in Bengaluru. The company has deployed more than fifty thousand Copilot licenses and trained more than twenty five thousand employees in Microsoft Cloud and GitHub. Wipro said the collaboration supports its strategy to embed agentic AI across workflows in industries such as financial services, retail, manufacturing and healthcare.
CEO Srini Palla said, “Wipro Intelligence is helping us deliver game changing outcomes.” He said the Microsoft partnership strengthens this work and supports faster AI adoption.
India emerges as a key market for enterprise AI
The partnerships place India at the centre of a broader shift in enterprise AI adoption. With major IT services firms committing to large scale deployments and with Microsoft’s multibillion dollar investment in AI infrastructure, the country is positioned to influence how global enterprises move toward agentic AI systems over the next decade.
