New Delhi: Xbox Cloud Gaming is now available in India, along with all tiers of Xbox Game Pass, Essential, Premium and Ultimate. The service democratises access to gaming allowing subscribers to enjoy their favourite games on a wide variety of devices. Blockbuster titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Hollow Knight: Silksong are available along with games developed by Indian developers including Detective Dotson, The Palace on the Hill and Raji: An Ancient Epic. Some titles owned by users are also available for streaming. Players will need a high-speed internet connection as well as an Xbox Game Pass subscription to stream the games.
Microsoft is considering any device as an Xbox, not just the plug-and-play device that traditionally made a gaming console. Any Windows laptop, supported smart TVs by LG and Samsung, Amazon Fire TV Sticks or Fire TV Cube, along with Android and iOS phones are all Xboxes now. While a compatible Bluetooth-enabled wireless controller is reccomended, with support for PlayStation controllers as well, subscribers can play some titles using a mouse and keyboard setup, or even touchscreens. The number of titles available for streaming increases across the tiers, with Game Pass providing access to hundreds of games for a fixed monthly price.
How to Get Started
For any device with a web browser, including PC, phone, tablet or handheld, just navigate to https://xbox.com/play and sign in to the Xbox Game Pass Account, and you can start playing immediately. The Xbox Wireless Controller, the Xbox Adaptive Controller, The PlayStation DualSense controller, or DualShock 4 controller are all supported. On the supported Smart TVs or TVs with the Amazon Fire stick, it is necessary to download and launch the Xbox app, sign in to the Xbox Game Pass account, connect a compatible wireless controller, and start playing. A few games that you own such as COD: Modern Warfare III or Arc Raiders can be streamed as well, but these require an Xbox Game Pass subscription as well.
