MG Cyberster Electric Roadster Waiting Period Increased – What You Need To Know

MG Motor India’s all-electric MG Cyberster has become one of the country’s most talked-about performance cars and its popularity has grown rapidly since its launch in July.

Gaining popularity, demand for Cyberster has increased and as a result new customers have to wait for 4-5 months for delivery.

This sudden rise in waiting time comes after the company sold over 350 units through its premium buying channel, MG SELECT. For a two-door electric roadster, which is a niche segment in India, these numbers reflect the car’s strong pull among car enthusiasts, celebrities and young luxury buyers.

Milind Shah, Head of MG SELECT, said, “The phenomenal response to the Cyberster from sportscar enthusiasts has been extraordinary, particularly due to its striking design language and innovative features – including the iconic electric scissor doors and impressive acceleration from 0-100 in just 3.2 seconds. This remarkable success underscores that today’s buyers are seeking high-performance sports cars that combine sustainable luxury with cutting-edge engineering.”

He added, “We have built a healthy order book and are efficiently working to cater to the current demand and upcoming bookings. From sports champions to movie stars, the Cyberster continues to capture the imagination of new India and its aspirations, drawing the attention of people from different walks of life. Beyond the vehicle itself, we are also creating immersive, curated experiences exclusively for our customers – ensuring that the MG SELECT ownership journey extends far beyond the drive.”

Inspired by the legendary MGB Roadster, the Cyberster mixes retro charm with modern engineering as it features a sculpted exterior, soft-top roof, active aerodynamics, sharp LED DRLs and a sporty Kammback rear design. It is powered by a dual-motor AWD setup which produces 510 PS and 725 Nm that makes it the fastest MG ever built.

To match its high performance, MG has equipped the car with strong braking hardware, including Brembo 4-piston front brake calipers, which are capable of stopping the car from 100 km/h in just 33 meters. The roadster has 20-inch staggered alloy wheels and performance-focused Pirelli P-Zero tyres.

This two seater car is priced at Rs 74.99 lakh (ex-showroom), and has helped MG become the second-largest luxury EV brand in India, alongside the MG M9 Presidential Limousine. The company has also opened 14 MG SELECT Experience Centres across major cities which offer premium, tech-driven showrooms where customers can explore MG’s luxury EV line-up. With soaring demand, premium looks and thrilling performance, the MG Cyberster is proving that India is ready for high-performance electric sports cars.
