Rohan Gurbaxani on Anurag Basu’s casting process
Rohan Gurbaxani, in an interview with Mid-Day, revealed that Anurag Basu’s casting process was quite unusual. Without calling him for an audition, he FaceTimed him and offered him a role in Metro In Dino. He said, “I was just over the moon because he asked me if I was interested in working with him. Like any actor would jump to say, Yes, I said yes!”
Anurag Basu always gives a brief storyline and the arc of a character to actors and lets them feel the film. While speaking about Anurag’s process, Rohan said, “This is how he works, very organic and personal. It’s just him narrating the story. Dada also says, ‘Trust me, I know my process is a little different. It’s a little nerve-wracking, but we will make something great.'”
While speaking about sharing screen space with Konkona Sen Sharma and Pankaj Tripathi, the handsome hunk stated, “When I was getting ready in the vanity, that’s when this freshly pressed sheet of paper came with dialogues on it. Pankaj ji [invited me to his] vanity van to rehearse. I went from just being in Bombay to now acting in front of Mr Mirzapur himself. Konkona also finds Dada’s process nerve-wracking, which was very comforting. They both [gave me a lot] to bounce off when acting.”
Talking about Metro In Dino, the film is a sequel to Anurag Basu’s romantic drama, Life In A Metro. Now, fans are eagerly waiting to see the romantic film on the big screen after a long time.
