Mercedes Benz has launched the AMG GT 63 with a starting price of Rs 3 crore (ex-showroom) and the GT 63 Pro with a starting price of Rs 3.65 crore (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. The AMG GT models are being sold here after 2020 when they were discontinued earlier. Both these models expands to the already extensive AMG portfolio of Mercedes Benz India.
Both the cars will be equipped with a 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8 engine which produces 585 bhp and 800 Nm of torque. The Pro on the other hand is a more track focused version and produces 612 bhp and 850 Nm of torque. Both the vehicles are equipped with a 9-speed torque converter automatic and power goes to all four wheels via a 4matic+ AWD system. The Pro also has more aggressive aerodynamics, bigger brakes, lighter weight.
In terms of the interior, the AMG GT now gets a 2+2 seating configuration. There is a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display and an 11.9-inch portrait oriented infotainment screen. A lot of the underpinnings are similar to that of the SL63 AMG. There will be no convertible version of the AMG GT as those duties are done by the SL now.
The AMG GT will rival the likes of the Porsche 911 and the Aston Martin Vantage in the Indian market.
