Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 Coupe Launched In India At Rs 1.35 Crore

Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Launch: Mercedes-Benz has expanded its AMG portfolio with the launch of the CLE 53 4Matic+ coupe in India. Priced at Rs 1.35 crore (ex-showroom), the new CLE 53 joins the brand’s CLE line-up as a sportier and more powerful alternative to the CLE 300 Cabriolet. Mercedes-Benz India retails the CLE 300 Cabriolet at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.15 crore. Whereas the CLE 300 Cabriolet is available as a convertible in the country, the CLE 53 is a coupe with a fixed swoopy roofline. Moreover, the latter comes in an AMG Line trim, adding a few sportier elements.

Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+: Engine, Output

With a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder, in-line, twin-turbo petrol engine and a 48V mild-hybrid system (with an integrated starter-generator capable of an additional 22.6bhp), the AMG CLE 53 makes a combined 443bhp and 560Nm of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels through a 9-speed dual-clutch gearbox and the brand’s 4Matic+ system.

According to Mercedes-Benz, the sportier variant of the Cabriolet can accelerate from a halt to 100km/h in 4.2 seconds, and has a top speed of 250km/h. With the optional AMG Performance Package, the top speed can reach 270km/h.

Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+: Exterior

On the outside, the AMG CLE 53 seems to be an aggressive-looking AMG model. The front fascia stands out with a Panamericana grille with vertical slats as well as sleek LED Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs). The headlamps appear to be in the style of the C-Class, while there is a sporty-looking bonnet with cuts and creases, as well as a large air dam on an aggressively styled bumper.

Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+: Interior, Features

Lots of AMG-specific features for a sporty look continue on the inside too. While the dashboard design and interior layout, including an 11.9-inch portrait infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and a trio of central AC vents, are similar to the Cabriolet, the CLE 53 4Matic+ gets a sportier, 3-spoke steering wheel finished in Alcantara with red stitching.

Other notable bits include 64-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, powered front seats, a Burmester audio system, and a wireless charger. Safety-wise, the new AMG model offers 8 airbags and an ADAS suite.
