Meolaa CEO Hiring Update: Meolaa Founder Ishita Sawant stepped back from her CEO role for two weeks and herself took over talent hiring for key positions in the company. Their aim is to strengthen the team and drive AI-enabled FMCG growth.

Meolaa CEO Hiring: Ishita Sawant, Founder, Meola, has stepped down as CEO for the next few weeks and has taken charge of talent hiring herself. His vision is to add the right people to 15 key positions in the company and further strengthen the team. Posting on LinkedIn, Ishita wrote, ‘Companies are not run only by technology or ideas, but by people. Meola’s real superpower is not just AI, but the perfect combination of humans and technology. He believes that only the right people bring the right growth and if the team is better, the company will grow every year.

CEO will now take interview herself

For the next two weeks, Ishita herself will conduct a talent hunt for Meola. He jokingly wrote, ‘If you get my call, it will be true.’ They are looking for people who think fast, take smart action and turn every challenge into an opportunity. This leadership move comes as Meola recently raised $6 million in Pre-Series A funding. This round has been led by General Catalyst. Claypond Capital (Ranjan Pai’s family office), Colosa Ventures, Kunal Shah, TurboStart Global, and legacy investors also participated. The funding will help Meola enhance its AI capabilities, expand its brand portfolio and scale operations.

AI is changing the face of FMCG

FMCG startup Meola is using AI and advanced data analytics at every level. Be it consumer insights, product innovation, branding and packaging, or supply chain optimization. Ishita says, ‘Together with General Catalyst, we are building an AI-enabled FMCG model, which will modernize the entire value chain.’

Investors’ confidence and big vision

Neeraj Arora, Managing Director, General Catalyst, said, ‘We find Ishita’s vision to be the biggest strength of Meolaa. An AI-native FMCG company that can turn years of R&D into months.’ According to him, Meola is preparing the blueprint of smart FMCG companies of the future, where every decision is driven by data and intelligent systems.
