The India men’s cricket team were waiting on their kits of the right size ahead of their departure for the Asian Games.
The Shreyas Iyer-led squad is scheduled to leave from New Delhi early on Sunday.
While it is understood there was repeated communication between the BCCI and the Indian Olympic Association’s kits supplier, a few of the players still did not have their kits ready.
A spokesperson for the jersey suppliers, though, said kits for the women’s and men’s cricket teams had been handed over to the respective managers well in advance.
“They (managers) have confirmed the kits are in order and that there are no issues,” the spokesperson said.
What actually brought about such an issue was the requirement of two jerseys – one for the T20I India are scheduled to play against Japan on Tuesday, and the other for the Asian Games campaign.
Shreyas and his teammates will wear their standard kits for the one-off game before donning the official Asian Games jersey from September 28.
The BCCI, on the other hand, has decided to make its own hotel arrangements,
following the accommodation issues faced by other athletes in Nagoya.
