Mein Nahi Hoon Captain: Suryakumar’s Witty Response To Tilak Over Number 3 Query – Watch

Suryakumar Yadav was at his best and he gave a witty response to Tilak Varma over the number 3 query. During a recent event, Tilak asked Suryakumar if he would go into bat at number 3 in the IPL?

Suryakumar came with a witty response and said that he doesn’t know about it since he is not the captain of Mumbai Indians . “Pata nahi, ab IPL me main to nahi hoon captain, I think tujhe Hardik se puchhna padega (I don’t know. I am no longer your captain in the IPL. I think you will have to ask Hardik),” Suryakumar responded.

is the captain of India’s T20I team. He captained the Men in Blue to a title win in the 2026 World Cup. But he plays under Pandua’s captaincy in the IPL.

Pandya joined Gujarat Titans (GT) after being released by MI. GT bestowed him with captaincy in their debut IPL season in 2022. Pandya-led GT made a memorable IPL debut and won the trophy in their maiden IPL season.

Pandya-led GT made it to the final of IPL 2023 as well. GT lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a nail-biting final. Pandya made the shocking call to leave GT before IPL 2204 and he made his return to MI.

MI sacked their five-time IPL-winning captain Rohit Sharma and handed over the charge to Pandya. Rohit was India’s ODI and T20I captain back then. He captained India to a title win in the 2024 World Cup, played after IPL 2024. .

Both Suryakumar and Rohit continue to play under Pandya’s leadership in IPL. Pandya-led MI haven’t played an IPL final yet. They failed to qualify for the second round of IPL 2024.

MI won the IPL 2025 eliminator but crashed out after losing to Punjab Kings (PBKS)in the second qualifier. PBKS would go on to lose to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final.

The MI management would have high hopes from Pandya in IPL 2025. There could be a change in captaincy next year if MI don’t have a memorable season. They will kick off their campaign against Kolkata Knight Riders on March 29.
